On Saturday, July 30, at Rails to Trails, the Watertown Chamber of Commerce held their annual duck race. Not all the ducks stayed upright, but the people who had lined their lawnchairs along the water didn’t care. A lot of them shared the event on social media and got a few laughs. It was a nice lazy day, mid-eighties and sunny. If you had asked for better weather for a duck race, you wouldn’t have gotten it. If you had strolled down Lewis, you would have seen people eating corn on the cob, cookies, and curds. You could have watched Emily Victory paint a mural. You might have noticed an epic sight —s paghetti eating contest, with a puke bucket nearby, just in case. Elsewhere, folks sipped cold drinks in the shade, biding time until the noodle slurpers started. (Derek Tellier/News & Times)
