The Snap Fitness in St. Joseph is having a grand re-opening event from 2-7 p.m. Thursday, June 30. The event is open for anyone and will offer m embership specials, live air broadcast with Wild Country 99, free food, WeFest tickets, as well as other giveaways.

Attendees will also be able to tour the renovated facility and try some fun outdoor ‘bootcamp’ workouts. They are pairing with Bad Habit Brewing for the chance to win free drink tokens and also Jupiter Moon for attendees to enjoy some ice cream.

Owners of the St. Joseph Snap Fitness, Adam and Ashley Hoffman who both grew up in the Stearns County area, started their passion for health and fitness in 2016 after having their three children. They started their first gym in Cold Spring and since have had opportunities to buy a location in St. Augusta as well as the St. Joseph location.

“Our biggest drive is community involvement,” Adam said. “We like to try to do a lot of events like sock and clothing drives, or food drives and try to integrate ourselves into other areas to help out. It helps create an awareness for overall health and fitness, not just physical but nutrition, mind, spirit and body.”

Since purchasing the St Joseph Snap Fitness location and going through the shutdowns for the pandemic, they have been able to renovate, update and create a new/better environment for their members. They also obtained newer equipment that is meticulously cleaned daily to help keep their members’ minds at ease while they work out.

Adam and Ashley were able to work with the building owner to add on 50 percent more to their existing space. That bigger space allows for more functional fitness equipment and a larger open space to host group classes. They also painted and added murals to the walls and a new sign to show off the most recent Snap Fitness logo.

“We’re really proud of what we turned it into because before it had a different vibe and wasn’t as fun of a place to be and wasn’t given enough attention,” Ashley said. “We’ve heard members talk about how now they get excited to come here and it’s the best hour of their day.”

Snap Fitness has also recently partnered with NAMI (National Alliance of Mental Illness), which is an organization that works to advocate, educate, support and bring more awareness for those who deal with mental illness which in turn helps them to live healthier and more fulfilling lives within caring communities.

This partnership further instills the importance of not just physical but also mental health and how the two can work together.

“We’re here to create a community within these walls,” Adam said.
